The pros: The home was nicely appointed with furniture and had many towels, sheets, and kitchen pots, pans, and utensils. There was also toiletries that we loved. We were overall happy here. The management company was very pleasant and quick to respond. The location (key colony beach) and being on the water was wonderful. Being able to use the cabana club was a fantastic perk - we enjoyed the beach and amenities there (food & drinks poolside). There were many delicious restaurants nearby and the sunsets at the nearby park are amazing.
The Cons: while this is on the water, when looking across the water, you see cars nonstop. This was not something that was terrible - it was just not a tranquil setting if you want to see no traffic. The houses are also so close that if a neighbor does something, you hear it. The next door neighbor drilled rebar pipe out of the ground for 5 days. 😫. Super nice neighbors, but it was loud. I realize the property owners can’t help what the neighbors choose to do - so I don’t blame the owners, but am making others aware of our experience with neighbors. The stove wasn’t fully working when we arrived which was an issue because we had bought things to make for dinner. This issue was fixed within a few days.
The one big blind in the living room initially did not shut so we felt like the highway across the water could see into our living room at night. This was attempted to be fixed the next day but then the blind would only open halfway. The shower curtain liners were growing things on the bottom (mold). These were replaced the next day. The tv in the bedrooms would not work because the WiFi signal was not strong enough. There wasn’t a remedy for this while we were there.
Overall, I would recommend staying here and would stay again. The issues we had were mainly addressed promptly by management. Cudos to Vacasa in the Keys because we had prior experiences with Vacasa at other locations that were terrible. (Maryland and Connecticut). We did not want to leave Key Colony beach!!
